Verruca Treatment
At Foot Health Podiatry Clinic Galway, we understand how frustrating verrucae can be, often leading you to hide your feet or hesitate before visiting the swimming pool.
What Causes Verruca?
Verrucae can appear anywhere on your body, though they are most commonly found around the toes.
Caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), verrucae are typically spread in communal areas such as swimming pools, showers, and gym facilities.
Our Podiatrists employ a range of treatment methods to effectively eliminate verrucae, helping you regain the confidence to go barefoot and fully enjoy your visits to the gym and spa. During your thorough Initial Podiatry Consultation, we will assess your condition and medical history to determine the most suitable treatment plan for you.
Treatment Options
K Laser Therapy: This treatment uses a specialised laser device to target and destroy infected tissue. The laser emits a focused beam of light that penetrates the skin, heating the tissue to break down the virus and destroy the infected cells. This heating process also stimulates an immune response to help your body clear the virus. The procedure is generally quick and involves minimal discomfort.
Laser therapy is highly effective for treating verrucae as it directly targets the infected tissue while sparing the surrounding healthy skin.
Salicylic Acid Treatment: This method involves applying a specialised solution containing salicylic acid to dissolve the verruca tissue.
Cryotherapy: We also offer Cryotherapy, a treatment that freezes the verruca tissue to destroy it.
